Junior Rugby

“Good Clean Fun With Our Mates” – that is our motto at The Lions Rugby Union Club.

We provide the chance for players to be introduced to rugby union in a way that they can develop the skills to play while having fun and making friends. Junior rugby is available to both boys & girls and teams start at Under 6 and go through to Under 12s’. Under 6’s and Under 7’s do not tackle as they are introduced to the structure of the game.

The Lions Rugby Union Club offers a family friendly environment and excellent facilities. Parents are welcome to get involved at training, as volunteers at the club or simply as supporters to enjoy the games from the sideline. At Lions Rugby we encourage the players to be a part of a team environment where they can learn about Rugby, have fun and develop the skills to play. The great thing about Rugby Union is that it caters for all abilities and levels of experience.

The Australian Rugby Union has made a priority of implementing the new Kids Pathway that tackles any concerns a parent can have about the game. Rugby Union is a fun and exciting way for young children to learn valuable life skills such as leadership, team work, courage, sportsmanship and friendship in a safe environment. Coaches and referees are also trained to reduce risk and injury by being required to gain Smart Rugby qualifications.

The Australian Rugby Union has developed a junior rugby program that allows players to –
